Halfords brakes4life

Just phoned Halfords to see if the brakes4life would apply to my car but it's not on 'sports brakes' maybe very handy for people who don't have the blue m sport brakes. For red pads where £162.88 fully fitted.

Not sure, they just said OEM quality equivalent. Not sure how much cheaper they are than bmw but it was mainly for the brakes4life as it goes with you on any car you own!

It is a great price, they're the ones for standard 335d/i front brakes as well, and also the exact ones that Pagid recommend for the M3 so surely they can't be too bad! Obviously they'd fade like hell on a track but so do the OEM pads! And maybe they don't bloody squeal like the OEM pads!

I've got a set in my garage ready for when my car needs them.

I'm at 3200miles left but have been for a while so will order some up ready for when they go, I'm guessing over Christmas. Do they do disks as well?

Any one tried Disc's from a third party? BMW's look like a lump of rust.

I got a feeling they hit you on the discs, so roughly 2 sets of pads to 1 disc from my experience, so every other set of pads, they will hit for a set of discs, so prob worth asking what they charge for discs

No, Pagid lists the discs as still under development, and any other aftermarket ones with the proper two piece discs and aluminium hats are as much or more than Phil at Cotswold BMW can do the genuine M Performance discs for!

You can get Apec one piece ones for £130 a pair though:

I thought I'd read they were a pain to get. Will ask Phil how much m performance ones are as I believe they are cheaper than standard.

Sorry got it a bit wrong, just found his email from April:

2 x 34106797606 - £480 including vat and delivery
2 x 34106797603 - £375 including vat and delivery

MP ones are £375.

It is a lot of money, I hope Pagid release theirs by the time I need them, and they're a fair bit cheaper!

To be fair I don't think that's too bad for 370mm disks. I've paid similar for far smaller and aftermarket, not OEM, which you pay a premium for usually.

if you have the M Sport blue brakes and its time to change pads and discs, its worth looking at the full M Performance setup, you can sell the Blue calipers for decent money, which can offset the cost, at least that is the man maths I am using

Why on earth are you replacing the calipers? They are identical.
