FRM3 to FRM2

I have a 2011 328i and my FRM3 (9249083) was bricked after a jumpstart which left me with no turn signals, no dash lights, windows and mirrors won't move etc..

I mistakenly ordered an FRM2 (9204532) instead of an FRM3 from a dealer in Latvia on eBay, to my surprise everything worked when I plugged it in aside from tail lights. They would flicker for a second then go off altogether. I took it back off and plugged it back in just to see if anything would happen and now I have half angel eyes, half regular headlights, fast blinking turn signals with one front signal working and one back signal working, middle rear light works but none of the other rear lights work including brake lights.

I know the simplest route is to have it coded but I don't have a coder or software. I am considering purchasing the Carly wifi adapter and app for iPhone. Will this allow me to code the FRM2 to get all the lights, windows, mirrors etc. working properly?

I really don't want to do this but is there a way to change a few wires around on the X14260 and X14261 to solve this problem?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm in the Kansas City area if anyone local knows how to code I am willing to pay or can this be done remotely? If so same applies.

Hey I'm almost positive FRM2 can be used for the LEDS but coding is required. I have the remote setup in KC and a guy that can do it but I'm out of town until next week. But honestly the easiest thing is going to be is to grab a FRM3 less headache

Thanks for the quick response. The dealer I got it from on eBay has an FRM3. Let me see if he will let me return the FRM2 and pay the difference. If not I'll reach out to you next week. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I was thinking about it and I don't think going back to an FRM3 would be a wise move knowing how sensitive they are to voltage fluctuations. I've read the FRM2 does not have those same issues so I think I'll be better off just coding the FRM2.
