finally, I just ordered my new 320d Touring

After quite a long time of thinking about of all the different possible configurations I finally ordered my new E91
I'm very excited about it. I chose jet black with the following configuration:

wheels double spoke 156
anthracite fluid cloth
xenon lights
HiFi speaker system
Sunblinds for rear windows
Park Distance Control
Sports leather steering wheel
Lumbar support for font seats

and stuff that you in the US don't have to pay for:
automatic air conditioning
floor mats
cupholder
foglights

Now I have to wait for 3 month. That's going to be a tough time.

This is how the car will look like:

Good choice of options, but I would seriously consider leather seats to help residual values when it comes to selling your car in a few years' time. If you can pass on the hifi & the xenons (which will be worth virtually nothing), you could afford the leather, but maybe now isn't the time to be sensible. Just enjoy the moment

Congratulations! Nice choices. Three months will go quickly.

Question: what happens to the car you are pictured with (with Münchner license number)?

Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of money to spend, so that I decided to go with xenon and HiFi Soundsystem instead of leather.
Most of the E90/91 in Germany don't have leather (would guess 30% with and 70% without leather). It's not a must have option like in the US and the residual value of car will be still good without it. Must have options in Germany are for example PDC and air conditioning.

I used to drive this car when I worked with BMW in Munich, unfortunately it wasn't mine. That was a 325i with manual transmission, navigation prof., sport packg. and many other things - better equipped than my new one. I also hit 155mph on the Autobahn with it :rocks:

Growing up, no one had air conditioning. Now it's a must have. One thing re leather v. cloth, cloth is not an option in the U.S. BMW usually has good cloth seats and my first and 2nd BMWs had cloth. It's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. But it cannot be ordered in the U.S.

Was it 155 or 240 km/h

What did you do at BMW?

actually I drove 155mph = 260kph
But I have to admit it took a while for the car the reach the top speed. The 330i is much faster and it even runs into the limiter at 155mph.

I worked in the Munich factory in the quality assurance dept. That was a great job. I dealt with a lot of brand new E90/91
