Bye, bye 335i

Just collected my new Audi TT, just wanted to downsize to a two door and it fitted the bill. I'll miss the howl of the six at speed but not the ride quality, the TT's, with19" 35 profile tyres, ride is so much more compliant and smoother.
Pics to follow, too busy driving.
Hope I'll be allowed to remain on this forum since I've moved to the dark side.

Sounds good, enjoy first, then pics would be good

Since buying my 335D I'm thinking of a 3rd car to compliment and an older one of these might just fit the bill.
I've always liked them despite the comments.

Audi TT

First impressions after three days and some two hundred or so miles. (Please bear in mind that I'm still running this car in.)

Fit and finish in cabin a step up from BMW.

Climate controls are a great example of design that makes other systems seem archaic.

Steering wheel just feels right, driving position is perfect for me, seat, standard sports seat, is comfortable and easy to adjust. Alcantara covering is warm and gripping.

Virtual Cockpit is amazing, taking a bit of learning all about menus and sub menus but it's stunning.

Ride is so much better than my 335i on standard suspension. Firm but compliant.
Steering is pinpoint sharp and so direct, great feel.

Sound system, B&O with its twelve speakers and 680 watts is Wow! Has to be experienced.

You can probably tell by now that I like it a lot and hopefully I'm not justifying my decision but it is that good.

I'm limiting the revs to about 3000 to 3500 revs max and will gradually increase the speed until the break in period is over, but there is no lack of eagerness at that level and it allows sensible road speeds.

Road noise on certain surfaces is high, not annoying but noticeable, perhaps it's the make of tyres, Bridgestone Potenzas, or solely the size 19", 35 profile, or a mixture of the two.

The boot space, mine is a coupé, is more than adequate and can be easily expanded.

View from the "bridge" is better than from the 335i, bigger screen, smaller rear view mirror? I'm surprised by the all round visibility it's a lot better than I expected and for me it's better than from the 335i.
More impressions soon.

Hate to admit it but I can see the appeal of the new TT; well built, not too big or heavy and the latest version is apparently much better to drive than previous incarnations. So congratulations on the new motor - is yours the 230bhp engine?
