Is it usual

for the internal light selection switch to remain illuminated for a period when the car is closed locked and alarmed at night?

It happens on my soon-to-be-departed F20 yes. They turn off eventually

Yes, spotted this on mine. Have no idea why this alone stays lit for so long after the car is locked.

I've noted on my car that it is not always the same order, how the car goes into sleep mode.

I have concluded it can depend on how we exit the car, (time to locking, what we have used and how we switch off). Eventually all modules go to sleep.

Car stays in standby mode for a short while after locking it. If you just pop into a shop, when you get back into the car the heated seats/steering wheel/rear window etc will still be on.
