Rear Seat Belt Sound
Hi,
Anyone noticed that the rear seat belt makes a sound? Is there anyway to prevent it? The seat belt is hitting the stopper. It is so freakin' irritating that BMW didn't figure this out! |

More details on problem? What's the "stopper" the you are trying to refer to? Does this noise happens when you go over a bump or just in a random fashion or constantly?

More likely it is the rear armrest cupholders. When it is cold they make noise over bumps, pisses me off as well. I thought it was the seat belts at first as well. Recommendation: put a cleaning cloth in there and tighten them up so they do not make noise. This design sucks, my car seems to develop a new rattle a day. Makes the Audi parked next to it even better since it has 3X's the miles and not a single. squeak, rattle or issue.

Yeah, the seat buckle hits this little plastic, round peg that is fastened to the actual seat belt. It makes this light, constant ticking, contact noise. Very annoying I agree.

Yeah I've heard this noise it is annoying.
I never thought about those rear cupholders making noise. I sort of forgot they even existed. That's how little I think about the back seat in my car! :P

There's a service bulletin out for all E90's produced up to 12/05. The creaking noise from the rearseats is caused by excessive play between the backrest bushing and the pivot arm. The fix is to replace the backrest bushings on both sides. Hope this helps.
