I know it sounds obvious, but could you confirm what motor you have.....also, take a look on the inside of the valve cover....anything up there that might be associated with it?

perhaps the valve cover gasket was replaced before, and whoever did it had the valve cover upside down for cleaning, gasket sealer prep, ect...and that clip fell in there and was not noticed when the cover was reinstalled.

that clip does not look like anything Ive seen associated with the N52 valve covers or injection or electrical system......

hmmmm

Big piece clips on to the underside of the VC. You probably knocked it off when removing it. Not sure about the small ones, but probably apart of the big one.

It's apart of the VC, can't buy it separately. To be honest, I'm not sure it is even needed. I'm pretty sure mine fell off by itself as it was just sitting there like yours. I didn't notice a difference when I put a new VC with it attached on.

Damn that sucks to hear that they would not just sell the plastic piece as mine the clip is broken and it would not be able to be held on do you think the part is needed on the valve gasket cover ? Or should I try to glue it down to the bottom of the gasket ? I do not wish to get a new valve cover gasket because of this one plastic piece that broke because of a flimsily clip any solutions ?

you could probably just glue it back on. Not sure why it can even come off.
