Upgrading to HID fogs on 2006 330i with M-Sport bumper

Hi,

I recently upgraded my bumper to the LCI M-Sport and one of my fog lights goes out one week later.. now that I need a new fog light, I thought I might as well upgrade to HIDs. However, many people say the 2006-2007 3 series are picky to get them working with. I was wondering if I'm excluded from this since I have M-Sport fogs? Is this just a problem with the Pre-LCI bumper? Any help is appreciated before I go blow the $100 or so..
2006 330i
Thank you.

I went LEDs with mine they are 6k brightness and they look amazing. They draw less power and no issues 2 weeks now. Simply plug and go.

I have a few questions for you
What year and model is your car?
Where did you purchase them?
Error free?

Thanks

I purchased them through a local stereo store. They do tint and headlights as well.
Not one problem. I really am happy with them. I live in the northwest so it gets pretty foggy this time of year.

+1 for LED fogs, they are much cheaper and you don't really need HID output on your fogs anyways, I assume this is mostly for looks. I have run HID fogs in the past and they were great, but I am now a convert to LED.
I got Weisslicht brand from Bimmian, but there are other, cheaper error free options out there. They look great though and match the stock xenons pretty much perfectly.
They are error-free but with any LED or HID aftermarket kit, you will get the bulb-check flashes on startup. I coded mine out so now it functions completely OEM, but looks 10x better.
I don't think the year matters on E90s pre-LCI, they should be all standard H11 bulbs.

I did mine about 5 yrs ago along with corner delete and still no issues. I went with AM ones but I wish they would be much brighter. I think mine are 6k in brightness too. During the day you can hardly tell if they are ON.

Anyone found a brighter options LED lights for Pre-LCI please let me know.

I have a pre-lci MSPORT bumper so I went with these bulbs:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Previously when trying to get HID's working (absolute mess, I would steer clear on an 06) I had coded away the check bulb warnings so I can't comment if they would cause an error message. I can comment that they are incredibly bright and look REALLY nice when pair with my LED angle eyes:

Just purchased these. I ordered the Mtech ones, hope they'll fit my sport bumper

Update: Just checked my wiring on my fog light. Looks like it may be the connector that failed.. it looks & smells burnt. A little worried about it.. I remember a fellow E90 owner had his car catch on fire due to bad wiring on one of his fog lights, M3 rep bumper. Just placed an order on some Weisslicht LEDs from Bimmian.. hoping everything turns out great.
