Exclamation M240i LED WHITE INTERIOR

Hi.

I had a M235i with LED Lighting Package and i loved the white ambience in the cabin, trunk, door handles and glove box.

I just bought the M240i and it comes with the standard yellowish lights.

I know there's a OEM way to upgrade this to the white LED lighting.

Does anyone know what's the correct package from BMW for my M240i ??

The installation is DIY or i should take the car to the dealer ???

Thanks.

Not sure what lighting you are talking about. But, the ambient lighting on the inside door handles, footwells and above the center console can be changed from amber to white in the iDrive settings and can also be made brighter. Check your settings in iDrive. I think the white lighting is the "sport" setting and the amber is "classic"?

I think I remember seeing an OEM accessory package that includes replacement for all standard interior bulbs on here somewhere.

The OEM lights are so dim that I didn't even realise the car had them...

I maxed out brightness and changed bween sport and ambiance, both settings are barely visible

Has anyone noticed this too?

Those are tiny lights in the feet and roof. They change from red to white.

You can also change the main roof lights from yellow to white with this kit:

Yeah, I checked those out for all the lights in the interior

I'm wondering however whether the current setup is faulty or not.. they are barely visible on full brightness even in the dark.

Could someone be kind enough to post a picture of inside lights on full brightness?

I second this. I changed the settings from sport to classic and looked around I don't even know what changed. Full brightness and I can't tell the difference. I want white so I changed it back but I have no clue what changes. I won't have the car back for another 2 weeks while it's at the detailer but I will mess with this when I get it back. Still need to get the LED upgrades installed as well.

Might be factory lighting then...

I tried coding the ambiance lighting through eSys on max brightness but nothing changes

What LEDS are you getting?

Not sure yet on which LED's. I have looked at a lot of links posted on the forums but I haven't done much research otherwise. I do want 5000k temperature.

Thanks for the info on these. I'm also feeling like the stock lights are very weak.

Anyone know what temperature the stock HID's are on the M240i? Can't find it anywhere and haven't really even tried to turn them on and check on my car. Just got it back finally last night.

I'm taking my car to get serviced tomorrow and I'll see whether the current setup is faulty or not. If nothing is fixed/changes, I'm gonna try these and post some pics

Worst part is that apparently not adding the 'smokers package' to your car leaves you (or just me) without all the components (lids, cupholder, illuminated 12v etc.) in the central compartment giving it a very cheap look... I also don't have air vents in the rear, which apparently everyone has...

Great, look forward to hearing back on what they say! I drove around last night and forgot to check but I didn't notice any obvious lights on the inside. Not sure if there is something I have to do to turn them on.

That's interesting, my car came with that package standard. Seems kind of odd for a new car to not include those standard.

Any word on the lighting? I recently took a good look at it and I notice a very dim light in the foot wells. Barely noticeable and I will be looking into making them brighter. But other than the foot well lights I don't see any more differences in the car. I figured maybe the door handle had some lights but don't notice them. I just got the text for the encore visit so I might actually make an apt and ask them while I am there.

Yeah, got an opinion from the BMW service department... and nothing, they said it all looked normal

The only interior lights the car comes equipped with are the two under the footwell, two on the door handles and the illuminated 12v plug on the center console

My biggest problem is with the "Sport" Ambiance setting as there is at least 50% less light emitted than from the orange regular one

I'm tempted to change them but I'm not sure there will drastic change in cabin environment, so I'm still considering

Where on the door handles? I'm going to have to take a look and see what I'm working with down there and get a game plan on what I want to do.
