Something busted, car sitting on tire.

lately I have noticed the car was rubbing on one side a lot more frequently. The other day as I was headed home, it started constantly rubbing to where I didn't want to drive it. When I got out I noticed it was literally sitting on the tire. I pulled the wheel off before the tow truck arrived and I saw the axle boot was busted and grease was out. After talking to a few people though I have realized that a busted axle will not cause the wheel to come out further from the car, so something else is broken. Could bad diff/subframe bushings cause this? The rear end has felt "loose" for the last couple months, but I have been too busy to address it...

So you had the wheel off and you didn't look at any of the rear control arms to see if any were broken? It's quite obvious that one of the links is broken somewhere. I'd bet the lower control arm.

So apparently the Mexican shop that replaced the wheel bearing for me when I bought the car in Texas stripped the threads in the spindle, so the bolted ripped out, the control arm hit the axle and broke it. I need the spindle, axle, and control arm.
I am lucky this wasn't on the highway.

WALL lol. I was in a bind when I purchased the car, didn't trust it to make a 1200 mile drive on bad wheel bearing.
