18" vs 19" diameter rims
What are the advantages/disadvantages of 19" vs 18" diameter rims/wheels.
To me it seems that 19" wheels have the disadvantage of a harsher ride and more expensive tires. So other than looks, I don't see why anyone would get 19" wheels. |

I agree, 18 can still fill the well and will be a softer ride and cheaper rubber, go square to kill some of the built in under-steer.
THANK YOU Mr. Tasty for your correction, Tom Last edited by TomD335xicoupe; 10-31-2016 at 10:07 AM.. |

there is nothing wrong with 18's I love how they look on my car.
But then I also have 19's that will be going on the car once I figure out which tires I want |

I'd much rather have 18s over 19s. More meat on the tires looks more aggressive to me than more rim and super low profile tires. But it all just depends what your goals are and what direction you want for your car.

18s are way better for this car because this car is designed to run a 25inch tire. A 25 inch tire has way too little side wall for a 19 inch rim. 19 are great for most other car which are designed to run a 26-28 inch tire.

Subjective. I had 18s and 19s. I prefer 19s. My rears were 25.6" 275s and fronts 25.5 235s. Close enough. Actually made speedo almost perfect. 85 speedo was 84 mph.

My 19s had 3.25" and 3.3" sidewalls. Factory 18" is 3.5" but on run flat tires. The 19s actually run softer and weight is the same or less if you use non rft.

There is definitely more options in the bolt pattern and offsets we need if you go with 19s. At least that's what I encountered shopping for a setup. It all boils down to preference like previously mentioned.

I remember when I went from Style 44's to 197's on my E46, it looked so much better and the ride was a little firmer. Now that I have an E92, I like the Style 189's but think 225's or 269's would be a nice upgrade. I think it would hurt a 328's performance but the 335 has enough to spare. Only you can decide if 18's or 19's strikes a balance between performance and esthetics.
