I wasn't sure whether to post this in the garage thread... but decided to start a new thread.

Reading Roundel recently I was inspired to do a M colours project in the garage. I settled on a white pegboard from Home Depot!

Now came the fun part... the colours... after a ton of reasearch I found the below but was really no further along!

So after getting nowhere with the information to get a clolour match at Home Depot I resorted to screen shot of an M badge and printing it out!

So I started it last Saturday on a wet PA afternoon.... I though the Blue painters tape was a smart idea... but Sunday morning revealed that it wasn't.... ended up haven't to touch up a large area due to pealing... I then used a ceil cut line edger to create a straight line.

Finally I used a Polycrylic clear coat (2 applications) to harden the surface.

Then I left it to cure over the week and mounted it today!

Have the pegboard organizer kit ready to install, but I painted the screws so am waiting overnight!

The colour looks great against a flag I have (some will say it is off)!

I chose not to have an M car but I have been a fan since the late 80's, but it is not convenient for me right now.

Thanks, the middle is more purple than some of the images I've seen but I have a flag and it matches up really well! I painted the area under it white this morning... overall I am pleased with the result.

No problem on the paint codes... seemed pointless to post without them!

FYI the only thing I would do differently is either buy an unpainted board or sanded it first... error on my part...

Thanks again!
