Brake Question

Hi,

Sometime when I slow dow to a stop, the brakes will make a clunking/bump sound. The best I can describe it is like something was in the trunk and moved, hitting the trunk wall, while braking. Has anyone else experienced this or know what the problem can be? Any input is appreciated.

Supposedly the brakes are designed to let up a bit just before you stop to help you come to a smoother stop. Most people I know do this themselves out of habit and I havn't seen any accounts of it actually being noticable.

Either way though I'd really doubt that it would make a clunk or bump sound if it were working correctly. If it's worrying you maybe you should take it into your dealer and have some one ride along with you so you can show them. They should be able to either fix it or explain it and give you some piece of mind.

Yeah, it's the comfort stop. It's like ABS noise from the back.

i was under the impression that comfort stop was standard. i could be wrong.

every now and then i do get the weird clunk thing and it most likely is the comfort stop, but i usally have someting floating around in the trunk anyhoo.
