Start off assistant not working?

I picked up a 2009 328xi with the 6mt last week, and my girlfriend went to pull it out the driveway (I was blocking her in) and realized that the start off assistant / hill holder doesn't work/isn't present on this car.

My 2006 had it, did they get rid of it on the LCI models? I'm not throwing any codes and don't have any lights on. ABS works.

The dealer changed the rear brake pads shortly before I bought the car, could that cause an issue?

is she putting the clutch and brake on at the same time? It doesn't activate unless you do that. I don't think BMW eliminated it.

Making a mistaking when changing the rear brakes won't do anything to this system. The only sensor they could have messed up was the wear sensor but that isn't connected to this system. I know because I currently have my rear sensor cut off with the open wires tied together and I have no issues with the hill assist feature.

I'd check what Hass said.

I'm assuming she put the clutch and brake in at the same time, that's how you start a manual car. I should have clarified though, I checked it out after she said something to me, and sure enough, the hill holder doesn't work.
