Turn off airback light
I changed the mechanism of the door window, and to do that i had to remove the side airbag, and as usual the airback light stays on now.
Anyone knows how to turn it off ??? |

I have removed my steering wheel a couple of times and every time the light stayed on. The dealer fied it at no charge while the car was in for oil change both times.

The only way to PREVENT this from occurring is to disconnect the battery BEFORE you remove an airbag, and do not reconnect the battery until AFTER the airbag is reconnected with its harness.
The only way to RESET the SRS light is at the dealer, or an independent mechanic with the right computer. Pulling the battery will not make it go away. People's experience vary at this point, some dealers are willing to do it for free, while others will insist on charging you for a diagnostic as a part of resetting it. |

Good question! I believe the answer is yes, they will still function in the event of a collision. I am not %100 sure of this though!
The dash light is triggered by a fault code stored in the ECM I believe... not something that can be cleared via obdii. |

^ I was told it doesn't. With that light on, none of the airbags will work. Which is quite annoying, as the various (non-dealership) places I've been to cannot pull a single code about the airbag light being on; at all. This seems to be a matter only the dealership can resolve.
