Yes, at the port before it is delivered to your dealer.

Best to have the port install than say with your local dealership doing it. I would assume the port installers are more professional compared to the dealership installers even though some task may seem simple. But by default it's installed at the port once u mentioned your add ons.

The benefit of port installed accessories is that they can be rolled into a lease and residualized.

I am on the fence with ordering the coilovers. I am not sure if it would be more or less expensive to have a shop do the install but not having the stock parts is keeping me from pulling the trigger.

so I had requested to have the m performance coilovers and suspension port installed but these are not a port installed option. The dealership would have to install once it arrives to the dealership. So regardless you will get to keep the stock parts for this particular mod.

Good point about keeping the parts yourself. I'm not a hands on type of guy so I never touch my car when it comes to repair/installs so I tend to spend money on having professional work done since I know that is the best quality. I know some task may seem trivial but it's all relative from person to person. I don't want any margin for error if I did it myself or had a friend do it. I'm ordering the BSM and planning on adding black kidney grills, performance pedals, and M puddle lights so far. Small possibility I might decide to add more. I'm comfortable doing the puddle lights myself as it seems the easiest but for the M pedals and kidney grill is just out out my potential to do perfect work. I don't even know how to change an oil for a car! And even if I did I aint got time for that! Just take my money! lol

Advantage of port install is that the parts are added to the car's warranty which is longer than the BMW parts/accessories warranty. Disadvantage to port install is that you don't get to keep the original parts. Take your pick.

Baron BMW told me none of the M-Performance upgrades (mostly the CF stuff) are installed at port, which tells me that they might be lying to me so they can charge me labor to install it themselves
(exhaust, rear diffuser, cf interior trim kit IIRC, it's been a while since I requested those upgrades) |

I also attended an M driving event to get the $1000 off the purchase of a new BMW. Even the fine print didn't mention exclusions, yet the sales rep told me it doesn't include the M2. I think I'm going to call Genius line to see if they know any better. UPDATE: called genius line, they said exhaust they don't do at port any more because it was taking too long, but she said there's no reason why the other stuff shouldn't have been done at port unless the dealer ordered them too late, but in my case, I asked months ago, so that's still upsetting Last edited by serrated; 10-17-2016 at 01:44 PM.. |

I'm curious how many hours a dealer will charge for the suspension. Also, interesting to hear the port will not do the exhaust. Install for it should only be a couple hundred bucks though, well worth it to keep the stock exhaust.
