M3 replica bumper help

Need little advice here. Got the M3 replica front bumper from extreme parts in Toronto and after install there's a small gap between hood and bumper wondering if anybody else with this bumper has experienced this and has a solution

In looking at mine, I'd say it looks more like ur hood fitment is off than the bumper fitment.. When I just looked at the center of mine like where you have ur finger, it's about identical and I have no gaps..

aftermarket hood , aftermarket bumper. It could be either one that is off.

To be honest with you for the amount of money you probably paid for both ( aftermarket products) the fitment is pretty good.

You could try to put the old hood back and see if the fitment is better

Hmm, I'll take a look and see if I can adjust the hood to move down a little bit.

Rep bumpers aren't perfect. You might be stuck with it as there is not a lot of room for adjustment there. You could try putting shims underneath where the top of the bumper mounts to the core support.

Old hood is damaged so it actually fits worse ahah, I am trying to find a body shop who can take a look at it but it seems nobody around here will touch any aftermarket part

Do you think shaving down the rubber hood bumps would allow it to close more?

Yes, but if the hood sits too low then it might not line up with the fenders, which looks even worse than what you have right now, which honestly I don't think looks that bad at all.

Wind in the hood clasps either side of the hood or remove the spring in the hood release. That will close that gap up. Down side is hood won't pop open but that's no biggie really

Will removing the spring make it at a greater risk of damaging the hood when you close it?

Nope
Just doesn't pop open when you pull the hood release lever in the cabin
You have to lift the hood manually to get your fingers under it to push the hood release so you can open it up
No biggie really
