2008 e92 335i problem
I have a 2008 e92 335i with 91k miles, today on the interstate in fourth gear at about 4k RPM (was passing a slow truck) the engine starts sputtering, the check engine light comes on, I let off the throttle then ease back on the throttle and there is more sputtering. This happens a few times and the sputtering gets worse, then magically the check engine light turns off and all is well with the world.
Anyone have any ideas what might cause this? Ill get the codes when I get home and scan the car. |

Codes will help. I would say coils or injectors.
I had a misfire under boost on my old injectors that wouldn't throw a code but could be felt. Using the JB4 I could see the car erratically go lean on bank one when the misfires would happen. Replaced the injectors and it runs much better. |

Move coil from cyl#5 to cyl#1 and spark plug from cyl#5 to cyl#3
Run it, run it hard, passing slow trucks... If you have misfire on cyl#5 again is the injector (what I think) If you have misfire on cyl#1 is the coil If you have misfile on cyl#3 is the spark plug. Easy enough to figure out... |

So my friend just changed his spark plugs but it's still say it's misfire on cylinder 3 in 2 firing order. Switch the coils around still get the same thing what are we missing here

Nice. I take it you're not modded and tuned? Don't see how you could go that long and NOT have severe issues otherwise.
