I recently got another 320, but got the led lighting package this time. I've noticed that the lights change their aim during startup and go from pointing downwards to pointing straight out in about a second. At first I thought it was the lamps warning up, but it looks more and more like they change their angle. Do they actually move or are my eyes playing tricks on me? If they do move, why? They aren't adaptive, but they auto level?

Common with previous xenon lamps that were non-adaptive: both my 2001 X5 and 2003 E46 xenon do that (auto leveling). The adaptive xenons of our 2016 428 swivel left and right when turning left or right. Yes, your LEDs are just auto-leveling.

Thanks. I never saw reflector style headlights that auto level. I always thought that was a projector style thing.

My previous E46 (two cars ago) with halogen lamps did this too.
