K&N Replacement Air-Filter

Hi Guys

Does someone use the K&N Air-filter? Any Errors? Better sound? More power? Would you recommend this?

My Car:
BMW 320d xDrive with M-Performance Power Kit

Thanks you.

Greetings from Switzerland

I ran one for like an hour and took it back out. I read too many threads about how the oiled filter is bad for the turbo, so it took it and swapped it out for the AFE Dry flow filter. Just have more of a turbo sound, nothing else came out of it. I'm sure it's getting more air since I have the intake scoop and the filter, but nothing as far as performance or mileage.

Welcome to the forum though!

It'll do zero for power, not sure about noise.

Probably good long term investment.

Scoop from AFE itself, filter off of amazon.

Part numbers:

Scoop: 54-12218
Filter: 30-10225

Although, it appears they now have a full intake system, so I may be looking into that when it becomes available.

It's on pre-order right now, says it'll start shipping on the 14th.

Aside from a turbo upgrade, I've finally been able to piece together from the intake to the exhaust on upgrades for these cars. The exhaust I will have to get mine on a lift to see where the DEF port is, and see how compatible the aftermarket system will be. If I have to weld in a nut for the DEF, that won't be the biggest problem i have to deal with for a straight, turbo back exhaust.

So far, I've managed to come up with:

AFE intake
Wagner FMIC
Super Sprint DPF Delete downpipe
Super Sprint straight pipe exhaust.

Along with the hopeful Dinan tune for the d's, I think we will finally be able to do some upgrades to these cars. We still won't be able to run a dual tailpipe exhaust due to the DEF tank, but I don't see it necessary to do so with a 4 cylinder.

Thank you guys! I will not buy an oiled filter. Look forward for this Air-Intake System.

Will these fit the 335d?

You'd have to compare part numbers with the 335i on the filter. I believe the scoop for the 335i should fit. Depends on which side your intake is on.
