Unhappy Need more rear camber!!

I drive a lot of trackdays and autoX. I run on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

With the original front camber of 1,3 degrees I got some nasty wear on the front tires outer shoulders. I bought camber plates, set wheels to 3 degrees and this shoulder wear was gone. The front tires now wear down nice and evenly.

BUT... I still get this nasty tire shoulder wear at the rear. We've set camber to max what is possible which is just over 2 degrees.

I'm pretty sure swapping to Kumho V70 would solve it, they have a totally different carcass but I have the MPSC2 on and can't justify just throwing them out.

Anyone else having similar problems with the rear?

Not seeing what you are. I'm at Road America right now. This is drivers rear. 3 track days plus 4500. Will be 4 track days after today.

Those are MPSS or MPSC2? What hot pressure do you run?

MPSS. Hot at 36 all around. Cold was around 28, 29, 30, 30 for lf, rf, lr, rr.

How much more camber do you need? OEM adjustments should allow more than -2. Reduce body roll will help roll induced camber changes.

Max possible OEM adjustement is 2.0 on one side and 2.2 on the other.

The Öhlin Road and Track kit which is on the car has AFAIK stiffer springs than OEM which should already help with body roll. At least a bit. Seems I need some hardware to extend adjustable camber range or swap to other tire model.

How much did you lower the car with the Ohlins? You may get more camber with slightly more lowering. Otherwise you may have to upgrade to an adjustable upper link for additional camber adjustments(that come with possible noise down the road).

It's only lowered a couple of millimeters.

Where can I find adjustable upper links?

I have the same problem too and I could only get -1.8 on both sides....

If the Rear LCA's are the same as the M3/M4 you can get the Fall Line Camber Shims.

"Please note that the camber shim kit does not increase the amount of available camber adjustability, but rather rigidly fixes the camber adjustment you make"

What that means is you cannot set the camber to your choosing. So if you needed a specific -2.4 you may or may not not get it. The shims set a specific range of negative camber. If you use the 4mm shim the camber you get is the camber you get, plus the range of the factory.

Well, the answer isn't just continually adding more camber, its increasing roll stiffness and caster. Do in this order: Increase positive caster at the front if possible, and run stiffer sway bars and stiffer lowering springs. Its a bit surprising that this car requires so much camber - about the same as a 70's Japanese car. I would have thought the design would be a bit more sophisticated these days like some other brands multi-links with virtual roll centers.

I'm starting to suspect it's the Michelins MPSC2 that have too weak sidewalls. I've run two trackdays now on R888 and have no problems with shoulder wear.

Mac strut cars lose dynamic negative camber
