WTH. Stolen Chrome Tip??
I got home from gym tonight and realized one of my chrome tips was gone. Just put these on 2 weeks ago. I have to assume somebody swiped it, cuz I dont know how one could fall off. They fit pretty snug. Has anybody ever heard of this happening. Maybe someone is just hate'in on my car.

If I were to steal somebody's chrome tips, I'd take both of them. Or perhaps somebody saw the thief in the process and he/she made off with just one of them. Maybe the vibrations your car makes loosened one of the screws? Who knows, it's just a bunch of speculation, but either way, that sucks dude.

Darn, thief needed just one for his rice-a-roni civic
Weren't there concerns expressed on this board about this very thing recently? It was in light of the fact that the tips are just fastened by simple screws...

true. Wost part is downtime. I hate dirty pipes. Im all ears for a better solution though. I found the old thread. Somebody bought Hex screws at Home Depot. Not a bad idea. |

Rather put the 330i chrome pipes on
They dont need screws since the have a internal clamping system that is almost impossible to remove and they look better since they cover the pipe all the way back to the muffler

Another simple thing to steal... this and the chrome grill on the 330.
Once word gets out all the 325'ers are going to start jacking these 2 things both in a matter of 1 minute. |

Wrt the grilles, the hood/bonnet has to be open to remove them, so not too worried bout that....

If they can steal headlights off of cars they can do the tips too.
All it take is some asswipe that has a 325 and wants crome tips but doesnt want to do what normal people would do, buy them.

the part number for the left side 330i tip is 18-30-7-549-558.
my dealer had to special order them, but only took a couple days to get in. also, they're a little more expensive than the 325i tips, but imho they look better because there's no screw since the tips use internal clips.
