Clutch Delay Valve on M2

Does the M2 have one? Has anybody removed it or modded it? In some cars it can be a great mod...

No CDV, but I would highly recommend the BMS clutch stop due to long pedal travel.

Already bought a UPC, which has an adjustable stop in it.

Yes, it appears that the part numbers for clutch slave cylinder are the same between M2C and:

There appears to be an internal restrictor inside of the Slave cylinder which can only be accessed by removing the slave cylinder from the trans (2 bolts) then cracking open the line to get at it.

Here is someone removing it from their F30
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1486773

If you skip further in that thread it appears people just remove the metal plate and piece of plastic holding it inline altogether and re-assemble.

Figured there should be a conclusion to this thread in case someone found it as I did searching for this same answer.

^Yep. Your M2s have CDVs in the clutch slave cylinder.

Looking at that thread I wonder if just using a self-tapper into the restrictor and then pulling would be the easiest way to get rid of it.

From that thread, OP mentions removing the CDV results in a smoother 1 -> 2 shift. Mechanically, how does this worK? If my interpretation of the CDV is correct, all it does it limit the rate at which the fluid can travel upon reengagement (letting out the clutch). So, if I'm letting out the clutch slowly for a 1 -> 2 shift, would I notice any difference?

I find 1 -> 2 shifts still very awkward at times (even after a year of driving my M2), but IMO it's more due to how slow the revs drop (controlled by the ECU).

Consider the Ultimate Clutch Pedal. The pedal greatly reduces travel and puts the catch point much closer to the firewall. The pedal itself also sits lower in it's rest position. I just installed mine and man, what a difference. I'm still getting used to it, but the 1-2 shift (and all shifts) are much smoother. I've been driving sticks since the late 1980s and remained perplexed as to why BMW makes the clutch travel so long in these cars plus make the clutch pedal resting height 1/2" higher the brake pedal.
