On3 Performance FMIC review?
Anyone running the On3 performance FMIC? at $359 shipped this kit seems like a good deal for a 7in FMIC. Just seeing if anyone is running this FMIC and what you think of it?
Thanks! http://www.on3performance.com/shop/o...ade-2007-2012/ Update: I went ahead and purchased a FMIC from on3performance.com and took delivery today. So far the packaging was superb and came in two boxes, some of the fins were still slightly bent however. Pictures below. I plan on installing this weekend and will update you guys as soon as I can. I'll let you guys comment on quality based on the pictures. Last edited by TypeDre; 10-01-2016 at 12:28 AM.. |

I have been wondering the same thing. Havent been able to find anything about it. Also noticed if you get their single kit they also throw in a charge pipe and dp. Honestly their single kit is just a little more than a FBO setup. Their stuff works in the LS and coyote worlds quite well.

I bought one from a private seller and it looked to be decent quality. The only bad thing is it was painted and the paint had started flaking off in some areas. Not sure why they don't leave it just exposed. Would look better.
Anyways I returned it because of shipping damage. Prior to that I also ordered a VRSF 7 inch FMIC and that also came in damaged. They are basically the same intercoolers. No external differences. Also I'm not sure if they include a lower charge pipe because on my car the factory one wouldn't have been reusable. I'm sure the quality is good, but I ended up paying a bit more for top quality with the new intercooler I got. |

I just purchased a brand new one from their website, should be here next week. It doesn't sound like anyone on here has done a review so I'll be sure to do a DIY and a review of the quality when it comes in.
From what I've read though, it's very similar with the VRSF FMIC in terms of design. |

it may look the same as the VRSF, but I am very curious about the fin density. Im sure it will work better than stock, as most any halfway decent intercooler should, but how it compares vs the proven brands is another story.

Seems almost identical to the vrsf its alot better than the mitsimoto style ebay intercooler I bought 2 years, which was alot better than stock.

Looked at this and seems ok. If you count, number of fin rows is 1 less than most ic, incl vrsf. That seems less core. Vrsf shown below

They're all made by the same group of people.
1: someone sends over the design for a prototype. 2: the prototype is accepted or denied by the vendor. 3: the same designs are recreated and sold at a lower cost to whoever will buy them. 4: the original vendor claims that theirs is superior. There is no expectation of exclusivity when sending products overseas for mass production. If a vendor wants to save money by utilizing cheap labor, then they're going to have to accept that the design WILL be copied. If someone is sending products overseas for mass production, they would have to be stupid to think that the same factory won't produce and sell more of them. Ever heard of Alibaba? |
