2017 BMW M2 new tires size larger? Why?

why are the tires size for the 2017, 255 and 275 for the BMW m2.
I saw this at bmw site and on my order form. Why, what gives, better grip, better 0-60?

Was not aware about a difference in tyre size between 2016 vs 2017

Interesting. Can you post the source? I just checked BMWUSA and they still show 245/265 on a 2017:

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...s/default.aspx

There was an error in the 2017 BMW Canadian M2 ordering guide, when it was released back in June, where they listed the same size tires as the M4.It was corrected, there is no change in the tire sizes on the M2.

I don't no where the OP would be getting this info from now.

BTW,the German guide that was released in June said the tires sizes were the same.It was BMW Canada that made the mistake.
