I love the BMW All Weather Mats

I never thought I'd be saying this, but I truly love those BMW All-Weather Rubber Mats.

The interior of my 330i is black leather with black dashboard and Burl Walnut. However, the carpet by default is dark grey. A full set of carpeted mats were provided compliments of Irvine BMW. However, a week after driving my brand new car, I noticed the carpet on the mats was beginning to shed and show some wear and tear. I wear mostly dress shoes daily and occasionally Pumas or Vans when casual.

Although I live in Sunny Southern California, it does rain occasionally, so I decided to purchase the all-weather mats as "spares." To my surprise, unlike most cheap plastic mats I've seen, the BMW accessories ones are heavy and feel like durable rubber, not light plastic. They are black and do not detract from the luxurious black interior IMO. I know THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS, but I haven't had the chance to take photos, and my car is dirty. If anyone really wants to see photos, I'll shoot a few.

Click on All-Weather Floor Mats.

MRSP is $47.95 Front, and $29.95 Rear.

I never had intended to ditch the carpet mats, but because of the way the wear, I might just do that. They're only a couple of weeks old.

The rubber ones are so much easier to maintain and look so much nicer than worn, grungy carpet.

Agreed - the All-Weather mats are the way to go. The carpet mats look great at first but can quickly become ratty looking.

When my dealer mentioned he was throwing in a set of mats (during ordering) ....I asked him specifically not to bother witht he carpeted mats and to give me the all-weather mats instead...eventhough they are cheaper. I guess I have to ask him for other freebies to even out then...

That's the word I was looking for--RATTY.

I'm glad all of you are sharing this, because I usually think of carpeted mats as more inviting and all-weather ones as truck-like, but no, not these.

Guys, it's all about the Scotchguard. Spray enough of that stuff on there and you're good to go. (Be sure to get the automotive one, though.) At least 3 light coats, takes just 5 minutes per coat. Then every year or so, re-spray. That's it! Water beads, crap comes off easily. The rubber ones are okay too because they can be hosed off, but the carpet ones look nicer.

ksfrogman, are you sure you live in So. Cal.? You've got the cold weather package and now all-weather floor mats. I think it's rained twice so far this winter--maybe. Supposed to rain today, but it's still sunny! (By the way, I'm in Redondo, not too far away from you.)

I just got these from a local dealership in Long Beach, CA. Check with your dealership, I'm sure they can get you a set.

LOL. We are neighbors! I know, I'm weird about the cold-weather stuff, but hey, I like to keep my butt comfortably warm at times, and I love gadgets.

I know all about Scotchguard and that's a great idea, but it wasn't the soiling of the mats I was bothered by inasmuch as it was the fraying of the carpet material. Maybe because of my harder shoes and manual transmission/clutch? Who knows?

I used to camp and backpack a lot, so my tents, jackets, etc. all have Scotchguard.

By the way, there are so many of us South Bay people. Hooman from Torrance responded to a PM from me, and I found out that I was already a client of his. Small world.

Yeah, I do see a lot of E90's around here, driving to work and stuff. But it looks like none of us bought ours from South Bay BMW! (Got mine from Crevier, also in "The" O.C.)

Have you ever used South Bay BMW's service? Are they okay, give a loaner, etc.?

I know that one of the South Bay BMW SA's is not so pleased with me taking my business elsewhere. I'm not sure they would give me a loaner, so let me know if you do use them. I do patronize their parts department for clothing and knick-knacks.

Whenever I see an e90 driver look my way, I give him/her a quick two finger wave on my steering wheel (Kansas smalltown style).

Alright, I'll look out for a saluting SG 330i driver on the roads here. Mine is TiAg in case you spot me. Surprisingly, I have seen too many TiAg around here.

I'm sure I'll end up taking my car to South Bay eventually because it's just the most convenient one, but only if they give a loaner. I've heard that some dealers like Santa Monica are jerks and don't even give loaners to their own customers.

Why should the South Bay SA be "not pleased" with you? I'm sure if they gave you the same price as Irvine that you would have gone with them. What were you supposed to do--pay more for the same thing? Lame. For me, it was over a $1k difference between them and Crevier.

I'll definately agree with the all-weather mats.. Definately worth the money and much easier to keep clean esp will all of the salt around here in the winter (the parking lot at work is actually white all winter and it's not from the snow!!)

I agree. The BMW black rubber mats are the only way to go. I have used those exclusively on my Bimmers for the last six years. They look great and they are easy to maintain. I highly recommend them.

Hey there Laplacian and ksfrogman. I live in the South Bay and bought my car from South Bay BMW. My CA said to give the service dept a call a month in advance if I want a loaner. If I ever have to go in for anything, I'll let you know how the service is.

A month in advance?!? That's not good! But yeah, let us know how your experience is if you take your car in before us.

Doesn't matter where you live, the rubber mats just makes more sense than carpet mats imho.... I always have rubber/ all-weather mats in my cars, the carpet mats just doesn't stay clean ...

Thank you for this thread. I pickup my car tomorrow and have a choice of mats as part of the deal. The carpeted mats are comparatively more expensive and I was leaning toward getting them because of that fact. However, I was worried about carpet life. I believe I will now be opting for the all-weather mats. And if you were wondering, both the carpeted and all-weather mats can be purchased on eBay. Just run a search for "bmw e90 mats". Hope this helps.

I like them too

I have both, the idea is to change over to the regular carpeted mats in the spring.
