Another 340i Touring Build Thread

Hi Guys,

My first post here but I'm super excited about my new car and need somewhere to dump all the excitement while I wait for the new car!

After lots of deliberation and looking at nearly-new BMW's I realized that to get what I really wanted, the specific toys etc I was going to have to bite the bullet and order a new car. I managed to get a decent quote through Coast2Coast which I then took to my local dealer who matched it

Planned Upgrades
  • MPPK - Update: Not 100% locked in yet but I'll probably drive the car over to Coopers BMW in reading to get the MPPK fitted. They've promised to do it for the same price they have it at the moment - £2k.
edit: MPPK ordered at Cooper BMW, Reading. Ready and waiting for me

I placed the order on the 7th of September after spending an entire day at my local BMW dealership trying out various nearly-new cars.

I've been told that the car is "expected in week 49" which after clarification from the dealer, should mean that it's going to be delivered at the dealership in the first week of December.

Welcome, and congrats on the order/deal.

Whatever you've saved on the car will be more than taken care of with extra bits and black stuff. This place is dangerous!

Very similar to my spec apart from the 19" wheels so obviously a man of great taste. The panoramic roof is superb. I can't see anywhere what your colour choice is though. Have I missed that?

Your observation skills are as good as your taste in cars!

The colour will be Estoril Blue - I know there's plenty around in that colour but for me personally, in M-Sport trim with black grilles and the black M-Performance trim on the sill, they look stunning.

I'll update the description

At the moment I've got a Skoda Octavia Mk1, modified to make about 205bhp - honestly it's a great car, can't really fault it however I just wanted something new and shiny

Congratulations, the 40i's are breeding like rabbits here recently!

I can't see your interior colour listed, looks like black from the pictures? Are you having Dakota or going the Individual route with Merino?

The leather dashboard is a really nice option as you seem to have everything else

Hey,

Another thing I missed! - I'm going for black dakota leather with blue stitching which I think just sets it off a little. Hopefully it won't be too dark in there thanks to the sunroof.

I'll update the description!

You'll be very glad you specced the Pano. Far too dark without, but lovely with all that light flooding in.

Not a chance, I am crazy excited about this!

I actually ordered a VW Golf R Estate back in June but started to get bad feelings about it just not being pretty enough (vanity I know) and then I started to hear lots of rumors about delays so I eventually decided to cancel and took myself off to a BMW dealership to spend a bunch more cash.

Now I'm over the moon with my decision. I'm super excited and been reading lots. At first blush there's not much difference between the cars in terms of practicality or performance but when you start reading about all the technology in the BMW, all the things it can do or help with, you start to realise where a lot of the extra money goes.

That's a much nicer estate than the Golf R Version (even though I like these as well).

The tech is much better in the BMW as you say.

I had a MK6 GTI a few years ago and when I looked at the Mk7 R I felt things hadn't really moved on to far on the tech side and was a bit disappointed.

You have every right to be excited thats an amazing car you've ordered.... Just don't browse the M Performance accessories in the meantime.
