Question Is This 435i Overpriced?

Hi all, new member ect..

Been looking to change my car for a while now, (E92 320D), and have finally narrowed it down to either a 435i or a 435D. Was also budgeting for something around the 30K mark. Colour preference is white with red leather, and I'd also want the full m performance accessories attached, front splitter, rear diffuser, spoiler, and side sills. Would add these myself if not already on the car.

Anyway.. original question is about this specific 435i

http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/4-Series/3...cmdc=se_na_fa_

Have been in contact with them, and they seem quite reluctant to budge on price. I thought for a model that's now defunct, they would be more willing to negotiate. I appreciate the car is nearly fully loaded, it's also fitted with the M Performance Exhaust. Just looking for some advice on its price point. Fair to assume it would lose almost 10k in about 12 months time?

Here is the spec list I was sent:

Firstly welcome! Secondly get your credit card ready

Are you paying outright or financing? AUC have at the best of times got minimal margin in on them. I am sure most on here would recommend you get a coast2coast quote done on a new x40 and work out what kind of deals can be had as new and how that works.

Looks like it's at least a £55k retail car when new as it has just about every option plus full MP kit inc wheels, so you could get maybe £12k max off that so say £43k for a similar new 440i

Is it worth £7k to have a new 440i instead? which is around £145pm extra if they're both on same apr, but if they won't improve on the quoted 10.9% either then that reduces that monthly difference a fair bit!

16 plate no miles but not quite as high spec. There is 440 not much more but think its more or less standard.

Cheers for the replies..

I usually pay cash, but a recent house purchase took up a chunk of change so been looking at their Select deals over 48 months. Car would only be doing around 8 or 9000 mile a year. Going to call tomorrow and try and get them to budge, at least on that 10.9% APR figure which seems a tad high!

in fact just search autotrader seems there are a few available if willing to travel and 35/36k would definately get you into a 440i

other than that then yes buy a new one and get spec you want and lower apr!

Well when we sold my wife's 1er for the 435i GC we paid £34k for a car with 15 miles on clock pre registered dealer stock car. Our car has most of options that one has except for hud and led adaptive lights. Given that car has almost 5k miles on it and I assume is only coming with 1 year warranty (ours basically came with new car warranty for 3 years) i would say price could be better for sure.

I'd much rather have that mega spec 435i than a minimal spec 440i.

Trying quoting the old adage to the dealer that options don't really add any value to the car Sir as that is what they always tell me when I am PXing

Joking aside it looks quite good value to me if you are looking for a well optioned car.

yep as above get a coast2coast quote or try TRL for a new price.

that car is very similar to my old one. I paid 37k or 38k for mine think the list was around 50k new. You might be able to get 15-18% discount on new then have the cheap interest on the new car.

I sold mine 12 months after buying it for 29.5k, if I had known the new car discount I could have got I would never have bought it.

Stratstone never discount. They will flatly refuse, but might reduce it if it hasn't gone in a week.

That's pretty much my thinking as well at this point.. Will give the local BM dealer a call tomorrow though and try to get an idea of discounts they may be willing to offer on a new 440i.

Here's the personal video they sent me btw if anyone wants a look:

Go for it, those wheels and carbon bits alone are going to cost a fortune, if you buy a 440i stripper you will probably spend £3k plus just on bits and have all the hassle of sourcing them.

As Tom Cruise said in Risky Business 'sometimes in life you just have to say What The Fuck'

Nice price with all the extras.

Does it have an MPPK on it, sounds wicked.

I've owned the 435i and 340i and I'd rather have a fully loaded 435i than a standard 440i. Performance wise there is a noticeable difference, but it's not night and day.

If I was making your decision, I'd aim to get the APR down to 5.9% and a bit off if you can then you're on to a winner. It looks a beauty.

I would think just the back box m p exhaust as it sounds exactly the same as the one I fitted on my M135i. I can see why my neighbours love me in the mornings
