So my business partner picked up her X4 3.0d today. As I'm off work (kitchen getting fitted) her and her OH came and picked me and the missus up and went out for lunch. Spec not too dissimilar to the F31 I'm waiting on (she had some bits I didn't, but vice versa), but the engine! Even in a car that weighs about a third more than mine, and as just a passenger...boy could it shift*!

Just made me all the more excited for mine!

*I asked if she was running it in, her reply: "I did, and then after 8 miles I thought that's enough of that and opened her up!"

Not my cup of tea either, but in the flesh, up close...honestly, not as bad as I thought. It serves a purpose for them anyway. Sporty, coupe styling, but easier access due to back problems. She's coming out of a TT. Still a lovely place to be on the inside, and the engine was what it was all about.
