Where to purchase service pack from?

Hey guys,

First time poster, long time reader.

I'm collecting my brand new F31 330d M Sport on Monday. The supplying dealer's not local to me and I'm wanting to add the service pack to the car. My question is do I purchase this from the supplying dealer, local dealer who I'll be having the vehicle serviced by, or BMW UK?

If I purchase the service pack from my supplying dealer I presume there's no issue with then having the vehicle serviced by my local dealer?

I'll be moving from an F30 318d M Sport to the F31 330d so I'm really looking forward to collection and the long drive back home on Monday!

get it from the supplying dealer as its easier.

I bought mine from Croydon and will be getting it serviced in Chester. I popped in to enquire about buying it from Chester (for a bit of goodwill to them) and they were non phased and suggested buying it from the supplying dealer.

Get it from the supplying dealer. The price is the same everywhere and you can get the car services at any dealer.

As above. You can get it serviced at any BMW dealer regardless of where you bought it.

The dealer should ask you what your preferred dealer is for service/warranty and this will be set in your idrive - but you can go in later and change it.

This is where the car looks if it needs to report a fault itself!

I had this on my 235i where the dealer rang me and said the car had reported a communication fault and they needed to get it in to fix it. Clever stuff.

My car will be 3 years old in February and service pack runs out then with one service left.

Can you extend and is it worth it?

I bought my car from TRL and he told me it had to be bought from the supplying dealer. According to my local dealer it can be bought from any dealer.

Naughty TRL.

Service Inclusive packs are for 5years/50,000miles. They can't be extended.

Are you not confusing things with the warranty which is 3 years/unlimited miles

I guess it was almost true - you have to buy it within 60 days or the price hikes.

Not may people would remember to go back in that time...

Unless they needed a 1200 mile run in service....

...or a new diff...

Hmm.. I wonder if M cars do have to be bought with the car on the basis it's going to be back for a first service inside the 60 days....

Yes you have to buy it within 60 days, but that can be from any dealer, so I've been told. And no it doesn't have to be bought on an M car at the time of order or pick up. I bought mine a few weeks after, but you have to be sharpish else that 1200 services creeps up on you and you don't want to pay for that then decide you want the service pack!
When you buy it, it can take up to 10 days (I believe) to show up on their system. So if you buy it from one dealer and expect it to use it for a service straight away at another dealer like I did you could have a problem as they like to see it on the system. I just showed my invoice and they accepted that.

So if you are buying an M car you need to pretty much make up your mind straight away. Shame its £1100.

The price is set by BMW UK so not really. Some dealers will offer to throw it in your deal, but really it's using up £525 of discount you could have had otherwise
