XI GC Install Update-Video at Strip vs Challenger
Couple updates, install should hopefully be done in the next few days.
Oil pan gasket was replaced, you can see the how much heat this engine produces. While I never had to add oil during the 5k mile change intervals, it was worth it to fix the problem while replacing the turbos. You can also see the ridiculous design of the axle running through the oil pan, not sure if that's a common design among other car makers or limited to BMW. I have the PI kit installed but don't plan on running for a few weeks till I can tune for straight 93, then get an e25 tune runnign. Once I get those tunes squared away I'll have Trebila help with a 100% e85 tune. I'll be excited to see what the upgraded transmissions can do once there are a few miles on the kits as I imagine to be needing one in the near future. |

I was confused as shit when I first got underneath the car and saw what I saw. Nice to see work being done on the XI's. |

Ya, the visual build quality of the gcs is like no other twin upgrade on the market. Install should be done this Monday but won't be pushing big boost till after 2 weeks of 93 only tuning.

If you notice people with front drivetrain issues normally break any of the other components first, I have not seen an issue with the pan. Evan Last edited by ucsbwsr; 09-12-2016 at 11:13 AM.. |

Turbo install is complete, loaded custom 93 mhd back end with jb4. Drove easy for about 20 miles, will give it a few more miles then start with some 3rd 4th gear logs
I have a stock exhaust and at idle everything sounds stock but getting slightly into boost, the sound from the turbos is insane. You can hear how much more air these turbos want to push. |

Good luck with it. Would love some GC's in my xi. Just wish they'd install themselves LOL

Put about 100 miles on the car and decided to do some logs as everything seemed to be running great.
Backend, I'm using a basic 93 Trebila tune, it hasn't even had a revision yet. Take into account that I also wanted a very conservative tune at first. I'm using the JB4 to handle boost. These are literally my first logs and just wanted to see spool characteristics and fueling. I have had a slight surging at very light throttle, this started when I installed my stage 3 lpfp, at wot shows no symptoms of surging. http://www.datazap.me/u/pits200/log-...log=0&data=1-4 Current mods ETS FMIC AR DPS JB4 MHD VTT GCs BMS Filters Stage 3 LPFP with fpr and PI(PI is disconnected) |

Another Update:
Still trying to get things tuned in on 93. Here is a short pull up to about 105mph and 3 more logs. Started runs at low rpms to see spool characteristics. So far car has been running great, no misfires, no smoke, nothing. Tune is probably not going to get much more powerful on 93 only. http://www.datazap.me/u/pits200/log-...log=0&data=1-4 https://youtu.be/F8xfevBv2tA [u2b]https://youtu.be/F8xfevBv2tA[/u2b] |

New logs with pi running a very low flow and boost upped a little. Going to move to an e50 tune here in the next few days, will followup again with logs and videos

Update.
When trying to go over 22psi I kept getting cylinder 6 misfire. Being that I'm on original injectors, I replaced all of bank 2 with index 12. I had new plugs and coils, knew those weren't the problem. When I went to remove injector on cylinder 6 it came out too easily. Luckily there was no damage to the bore and the new injector went in nice and tight. I went back to my 93 tune and now have bumped it up to 26 psi. The power with awd is honestly comical. I use to love launching the stockers but after feeling how the car pulls at this psi I'm afraid to launch without a 1st gear restriction. I'll get some logs but I actually need to find a new place close by since my last spot where i would do my pulls feels too short now. Last edited by pits200; 10-12-2016 at 05:29 PM.. |
