HPFP Warranty voiding

I took my 2009 335i Xdrive Into the dealership for a HPFP issues. But when stripping my car of the mods that I put on (Dci, JB4) but I kept my chargepipe with no BOV still on the car, does anyone know if they will void the warranty if they see an aftermarket chargepipe. I have looked all over and have not been able to find an answer.

Depends on your tech and SA. Just find someone cool to work with. No matter how modded you are.

If someone had an answer during the past 7 hours, I'm sure they would have posted. No need to bump. Why not call and ask?

There is your answer and probably the best one you're going to get.

Most likely won't void due to chargepipe but every tech is different. A few years back I actually had my vcg replaced under warranty while my meth kit was installed. I tossed the tech a $50 before hand, not sure if he was going to do it anyway but it was worth a try.

A valve cover gasket can't really be blamed on aftermarket mods, but a failing hpfp can.

Im not disagreeing with you from a troubleshooting perspective. But we have all heard of techs/advisors giving weak excuses as to why an item won't be covered under warranty due to an aftermarket part.

just for anybody that may have the same question on if they should remove their chargepipe before taking it to the deal, the Dealer did not say anything at all about the chargepipe, so i would say don't worry about removing it. But sadly my car has to go back in because I cant figure out why it is misfiring every morning. But when I go in i Plan on asking about what Mods they turn a Blind eye to.

The answer to that question will vary with every dealer and even by the service advisor. It may be useful for you and locals, though.
