iDrive as DVD player

Hi All, There was a thread on this topic back in september of 2005. I followed up with AV electronics (http://www.avelectronic.com) to see when they will have the upgrade available to watch DVDs with idrive. Here is the response I got:

HI Doc,

We are currently testing on the system for all BMW with iDrive. Expecting to release in April if not sooner. Please check back.

there is a unit call navitv2go out for e90 already. i heard its shitty.

is it the resolution thats bad? Because it seems like it would be difficult to botch up such a thing. Have you seen one of them in person?
