My back bumper
Guys, can you tell does my back bumper look normal to you?
In the middle it seems up tight against the inner crash bar, you can see the creases in this picture. There aren't any F30 on my road to compare with right now. If this is not normal does anyone know what could have happened?

Unless that's a trick of the light I'd say that's not right - looks like it's been pushed in and popped back out again.
There's a slim chance that a bit of heat will get the memory of the plastic to pop back to how it was... if not and having recently had a recent new rear bumper I can tell you it will cost just over £1,300 for a new one

I'd say it's had a shunt, but, rather odd that the centre section looks like it's been pushed out rather than pushed in.

There isn't a detachable tow bar bracket under there by any chance Aaron? It could have been pushed out when it was fitted. Just a thought.

Guys I've had a proper look, I don't think the car has been damaged in any way, there's certainly no scrapes on the bumper. The car has a clear hpi record as well
It's possible the bumper has been taken off before and not fitted properly in the center |

Right guys, hope you are all sitting down when you read this.
I phoned up the dealer and told him that he better start answering my questions before i drove the car back up to his fororecourt and throw the keys at him. He come clean. There are 2 bits of timber behind my bumper to stretch it out to allow the non genuine M Performance diffuser to fit the bumper properly. This news hit me like a ton of bricks and i started getting very irate with him on the phone. I reminded hin on 3 occassions during the phonecall that i paid him nearly £18k for this car and i dont expect to find bits of wood behind my bumper. He has told me he will sort it. I have told him that he neednt think hes trying to smooth out my bumper because once it takes the form of the wood it will be that shape forever once the wood has been removed. I have to call him back tomorrow and i will be demanding that he fit a brand new genuine M sport bumper and diffuser or i will have watchdog on his ass before he can wriggle his way out. Im absolutely furious about the whole situation |

That said, how many on the Forum have commented on poorly fitting non-OEM splitters and diffusers ? Buy cheap, buy twice, as the saying goes (or dump it on someone else). It pays to do your checks, thoroughly. Hope you get this sorted and the dealer not only does the honourable thing but also throws in a goodwill gesture.

He did it himself! He paid for someone to fit the M Performance kit and that is how they fitted it. It was not the previous owner

I'm utterly confused, a dealership decided to fit a performance kit and used non-OEM?

OP good luck getting it sorted but I would want an independent inspection to see what else they have bodged before I accepted it back. |

I am amazed any kind of dealer would do this, that's such a bodge job! I certainly wouldn't be letting him fix it, I would find a reputable body shop and tell him to send it there.
Good luck getting it fixed.

I would hold fire on demanding a new bumper cover as then you will also have the risk of them getting a cheap paint job done as well.
The bumper may well spring back into place when the offending bits of wood are removed. All you need to do then, is get them to pay for a real original M Performance diffuser which should fit properly. It might be worth having an independant body shop take a look to ensure nothing else is damaged or bodged up. |

The more I think about it the more furious I get.
This is a serious question and it has crossed my mind. I have owned the car for almost 3 months, the parking sensors needed fixed, he knew this before he sold me the car, I'm thinking this all may be connected in some way. I challenged him on the parking sensors a month after I had bought the car, then he had a death in his family, naturally I left it for another month giving him time to greive, even though this ate into my warranty period. Would I lawfully be entitled to reject the car after 3 months under the sale of goods act, considering what he/the bodyshop have done? |

Dude im sure your are furious and rightly so. Just makes you think and realise he can't be trusted.
Wear a calm head when talking to him, for now. I would not want him correcting anything but would expect him to pay for any correction work. I cant help on the rejecting the car but given the background you've now mentioned I would definitely ensure to look into your rights.
