Noisy electric tailgate

My tailgate has started to 'creek' on open/close. Sounds like it's coming from one of the struts.

Anyone else suffered this?

Any ideas - before I take it to the stealer (out of warr)?

Quick blast of silicone spray cleared up some noise from mine.
