Common faults
Getting a bit cheesed off with my car at the moment. It's been back to the dealers to have the seals sorted, they lubricated them which worked until it rained so booked in to go back again. I can't believe how bad the squeaking is, my 86 year old partially def aunt mentioned it! ?
I read about people's rear interior lights coming on when cruise control is used, it's done this since new and really bugs me. Granted, there are bigger problems in the world but a brand new car shouldn't be doing this, it's unacceptable. It's like walking in the house, turning the heating on and the upstairs lights come on! They told me a software update has fixed it but it hasn't. Is the excuse of "they all do that" really good enough!? So they are going to look at it again. I'm also getting sporadic failures of things like the park assist system (this happens when driving and not using it) and the collision warning avoidance loves to tell me it's deactivated about once per week. Anyone else had this? Switch the car off and back on and generally all is well... |

Put in writing all of the problems, get in touch the dealership. Explain (to whoever is in charge of their warranty matters, not the person on the desk), that the situation has not been resolved with prior visits, and as such you want to give them one last attempt before escalating it to BMW GB.
No joy, escalate to BMW GB. |

Will do. It takes 3 weeks to book in every time and they give me a mini as a loaner, although next time they promised it wouldn't be! Gonna threaten to refuse the car and see what happens if it's not sorted on the next visit.

Cooper Norwich actually found fault with my rear interior reading lights for the same problem this week! They say there's a manufacturing fault with the 'roof light control unit' and they're replacing it in a couple of weeks. You should advise your dealer of this, they could even contact Coopers and ask what exactly they found on mine, my reg is M30 TME

I haven't used my headlights much over the last few months but when I did the other night, it appeared that the automatic raised and dipped beam took some time to properly function. They stayed on main beam in lit streets.
Other than that I've had no issues that I've noticed. |
