Set your seat and mirror positions.
Press the Memory (top one) button - A red led in the button lights up. You do not hold the Memory button once the light is on. Press the desired memory number (1 or 2). The red led should go out. Your seat position should now be memorized. If you want the seat to move into position automatically (either when you unlock or open the door) based on a certain key FOB you must enable the that option in the settings menu of IDrive or using the Turn Signal stalk menu buttons.

And in IDrive (not sure about non IDrive) you have to set it (in IDrive) for both driver profiles. That had me baffled.
IOW, put in fob 1, set seats fr driver 1, set option in IDrive, get out, lock with fob 1, unlock with fob 2, set seats for driver 2, set option in Drive.

Does anyone know the setting on the turn signal stalk to this for us non-iDrive people? A pic or description of the symbol would be great.
All the sybols on the OBC are so cryptic. And the manual is not up to date with many of them. Last edited by Laplacian; 02-15-2006 at 01:47 PM.. |

Yes, there's an LED. I seem to recall it only worked for me when the car was actually running, start the car, set the seat, set the mirrors, hit the M button, light should coe on, hit the button you want the memory set on and the light should go out.

The LED is IN the button and it illuminates the button from behind. It lights immediately.

You need to set the memory in the seat first. Then you go to'Vehicle Settings' in IDrive and set the option in there. You can either have it move the seats when you unlock the door, or move the seats when you open the door. Then lock the car, unlock it with the other fob and do the same thing.

I saw the light!!! I was driving home tonight, and remember the post on here where they said the light was behind the button. It was dark, so I reached down and pushed the memory button. It lit up pretty bright! I guess I could never see it before because I was always trying to fiddle with it with the lights on. Who would have thought you needed to do it in the dark? What a stupid way to have it set up.
