Upgrading Turbos Help?

I know this must be thread #1,097,797 but I'm about to buy new snails for my car. I have almost 140k miles on the stockers and the rattle is killing me. they're no longer reaching target boost either.

My current modification are:
Upgraded FMIC
AFE CAI
Air Scoops
Wedge Stage 2+ Tune
Kittyless DP
Synapse Charge Pipe + BOV

I am looking at Stage 1 Vargas with billet and inlets upgrades and it's looking to be about $2600 shipped and then another $1300ish to have them installed by my mechanic at B&B Autohaus (Located in San Diego).

Is this my best option for price? I am on a tight budget as I'm going through a divorce currently.

Get OEM... They will last way longer than any of the aftermarket turbos.. Plus, I am pretty sure they are only 6-700.00 4 each snail. Way less than 2600.00...

They say they have, mine haven't rattled in the past 20K since replacement (knocking on wood), but just as many people tell me theirs rattle. Go OEM if you like relaibility. 450+ isnt a huge number. Do inlets, e60 custom tune and you're very much there.

The OEMs rattle but thats about it. They still are very, very reliable even with all the crazy stuff we do. The aftermarkets wont rattle-just blow up

Do a search and see how well aftermarkets are holding up. All claims, negligible proof.

I was afraid to post a similar question in fear of getting flamed. I've been sarching our threads for days,,, but our "search" function is lacking.
I'm planning to spend more ($3-$4k range), and I'm assuming from the "searches" that I've done that the Pure, RB's or MMP solutions are the best in that price range.
I seem to see people complaining of issues with VVT, and huge issues with Hexon (blowing up). are there other brands that I should look at (that I've missed)?
I have a sweet new dual BB Garret turbo (72mm) in my garage (that I had obtained for my supra but never put it on) but I like the idea of very little turbo lag with the twins vs. the big single.

Do you think you could hit 500 with e85?

I've had a couple offers I might take up for MMP turbos and Hexon RR600 stage 2s for about 2800ish . I'm waiting until I return from my next underway(going out to sea) as I'm active duty Navy.

You re on budget and want to install VG turbos? Lotsa risk here. I could send you pictures of the failing/not even 3k miles VG turbos if needed.

I wouls go w OEM if i were you. Or check w Pure. i think they r releasing Stage 1 soon from what ive read.

Definitely Pure turbos.. I'm in the market for them as well.
Haven't heard any issues of them smoking or anything.

8Series i decided to go back with stock as well. If you want a little bit more, have them slightly modded and you should be good.

Yes. You will need E85 and upgraded fuel pump and upwards of 20-22 psi. At those levels the life of the OEM turbos will likely be shortened.

Hexon is out of business until further notice, so you can remove them from your options.

I would go with Pure. Their Stage 2 are a little pricey and overkill for your goals, but you won't be pushing them near their limits, so they may just last you awhile. You can also try to work with Pure on a custom Stage 1 version at a reduced cost. I was talking to them about this earlier this year when I thought my turbos were smoking (turned out to be a PCV issue).
