Service Package

For the past couple of weeks since picking up the car I have been considering whether or not it would be worth me buying the service pack.

I have very little past experiences with BMW's so I am not entirely sure on how their service schedules run.

At the moment I am looking at 3-4k miles p/a, which most likely means my services will be time based rather than mileage based. The car is on a 4 year PCP of which I intend to keep for the full duration, after that I am unsure.

My question is to those of you are more the veteran of owning a BMW, would it be best for me to get the service pack, or would it be cheaper in the long run to deal with each service separately?

I have service pack at £525.00 up to 50k which will get me two services. Previous car didn't have service pack. First service with main stealer at 18k £277 and second service with main stealer at 36k was £517 (including vehicle inspection).

So your better off with service pack...imo.👍

50k or 4 years I'm guessing...

Based on your mileage it may be worth getting it. I was doing 25k p/a so the 50k came around too quickly and I missed the brake fluid change and other things which you'll get.

Either/or - whichever comes first.

As you'll only get one service in, it's not worthwhile getting the service pack for you.

If the mileage was to increase to about 6k (which it may do assuming my contract runs out when it's supposed to), would this still be the case?

It would still be time based, every two years, so you'll only get one service in.

As the service pack is for 5 years, surely this will cover at least two time based services, not just one?

That depends on how the car was bought. My E90 was a stock car and the service was due 18months after the first registration. The clock starts from production date... This car sat around for 6 months before being registered.

A factory order would not have this issue.

The service pack makes a used car a more attractive used buy.

OP says he's on a 4 year PCP so will be giving it back when it's due its second time based service - so not worth it

Yes its worth it if you are keeping it for 4 years. With your mileage you will be on 2 year service intervals,

2 years - 1st service (oil, filter, microfilter) about £250
3 Years - brake fluid flush - About £80
4 Years - 2nd service (oil, filter, microfilter, inspection) about £350

If he's only keeping it for 4 years why would he bother getting the 4 year service done?!

Thank you all for your help, I won't be getting the service pack for the reasons teaston and Rukka have said.

Most likely at the end of the 4 year PCP i'll end up getting another car via Tony with a little bit of positive equity considering I'm doing less than half the mileage expected of the car!
