Online Entertainment - Deezer Outage

Is Deezer not working for anyone else via Online Entertainment?

It's been down since Friday for me and my Mum's F30 is the same too.

Anyone know what's going on?

Is online entertainment part of a pro nav or was it an extra pack?

I've always used the app on my phone and controlled it through the idrive... which has been working as well as normal all weekend - the app crashes and it's less than stable in general use though!

It's extra but uses the SIM in the car and has no download limits.

Not as good as Apple Music with the Siri Eyes Free button but saves on my mobile data!

I had a couple of tech questions on the online entertainment, as a user I wonder if you can advise. I am about to get a new 4 series convertible and an X1 as our cars were up for renewal. What network does BMW use? I was keen on the online entertainment but I live in rural scotland and some of the networks are a bit patchy. Also does it use 4G. Finally can you swap it between cars or would you need a subscription in both cars. Thank you for any help you can offer.

It uses Vodafone. You will get 4G if you have enhanced Bluetooth, otherwise it's only 3G.

I have done a few trips up to Inverness recently and it's worked well. If you select an album it's good at downloading the next few tracks while you're listening to the first one so even if the signal drops you usually have plenty of time for it to return again before you hit the buffer.

Every song is downloaded and cached locally on the car's hard drive so you can listen to previously listened to tracks even if there is no signal.

Best of all, there are no download limits!

You can use the same Deezer account in both cars but you need the online entertainment option added on both cars. The price for this includes the Deezer account for 12 months.

I take it you mean 3G at the end of the sentence. But are you sure? In the LCI F3x Nav updates are over SIM. Would they really want to hamstring those by only installing a 3G SIM?

Yeah, it should say 3G. Corrected now.

My mum's car is similar to mine. It's an LCI too. She has everything the same as me except for enhanced Bluetooth and hers always connects with 3G.

When you go to the BMW online stuff under Connected Drive it will say 3G/4G in the top left corner of the screen. My mum's car takes longer to download tracks too which is another sign that it's using 3G.
