As above really, try as I might, I can't find a machine that can do it without E-Sys complaining about 'running out of memory'.

Despite having a laptop with 16Gig of RAM, fucking around with Java settings plenty of times and all sorts, I just can't get the bloody thing to work. I've coded everything else I want to but can't code the headunit.

That's not me I'm afraid. It's easy enough to do it yourself though, I just need someone with a laptop that is known to work with NBT Evo because try as I might, I just can't get mine to work!

Have you increased the default memory (512mb) in esys? Look in the settings tab in esys. Try doubling to 1024.

I'm coding off a ancient laptop with just 2gb ram.

I use my little surface 3 with only 4gb of ram, it codes my NBT evo hu on default settings no problem!

I STILL need a new reliable laptop/device to code - mine have just become so crap it's unbelievable.

Talk to me about this 'little Surface 3' - being a Mac person I have no knowledge of that kind of thing, recommended for the job?

Planning to clear out the garage today and I have an old micro PC I was planning to try.... laptops literary make my blood boil!

The Microsoft Surface 3 is a small (slightly bigger than an ipad) windows 10 tablet, available with a clip on keyboard for under £400 used for the 128gb/4gb version. New ones don't appear to be available now as I guess they'll release the surface 4 soon.

I have tried everything, adjusting Java heap sizes, running in different modes, trying different laptops, nothing seems to work for me

I am working 18 hour days at the moment and really don't have time to muck around with this myself.

Appreciate anyone's recommendations.

The compatibility drives me crackers, for years I used an old Dell machine which coded just fine but struggled to start up! Since, I've tried new Dell, Toshiba and Sony with varying degrees of reliability; memory out, now ZGW connection (power management?)...

It's such a simple program, it just shouldn't be difficult!

That is strange, it always worked perfectly on my wife's ancient 4gb ram laptop too.

So I cleared out the garage last week and came across the old ultra slim desktop I knew was kicking around.

Started it up this afternoon and despite my horror that it has Windows 8 on it I managed to download Shawn's latest software and code my wife's 135.

It worked so much better than all the laptop devices I had before and I can stand in the comfort of the garage with the car outside and code away. Much better.

I just need an ethernet coupler now so I can extend the cable, was a bit tight today.

In simple terms, is there a list somewhere of whats available to be coded?

I saw a list before but was all in techno jargon lol and didn't really understand it.

Want to see what I would like done to my car and whats available.
