windscreen needs replacing on f31

Small crack on windscreen in the day whilst on the m20... Phoned morethan today they sent out autoglass but guy said it needed to be replaced, and would be like for like will cost £75 going through morethan. I've got the internal mirrors with the adaptive light, so assume go through them should be ok, Instead of a bmw workshop.

Thanks

Will they use a genuine BMW stamped screen?

If you've got the kafas camera or HUD I'd definitely want a genuine screen!

Autoglass swapped the screen on my 2er with adaptive lights and collision camera. It wasn't OEM but worked fine with no need for recalibration. Only took an hour.

As per the multitude of other windscreen threads, like for like or OEM windscreens are not the same as genuine BMW stamped windscreens. That does not mean they aren't as good or not compatible, it just means they are not genuine BMW windscreens.

HUD requires a particular coating in the HUD area, OEM screens can accommodate this.
Cameras don't need to be calibrated or set up again.

Be very careful with insurance companies. Some will pay out as little as £25 and charge you your excess if you don't use their repairer and their screens others will arrange supply and fit of genuine BMW without question.

If your car is under finance, your agreement will stipulate that you need to have genuine BMW windscreens fitted.

Really? Surely as you don't own the car they can stipulate what they like?
