re. GYF1, can't comment on durability as I've only done 200 miles on them, but I have not heard any issues regarding durability. if hope for >20k miles from them

If you take a look at the recent tyre review in EVO they rate the Continental SportContact6 as the best followed by both the Goodyear AS3 and Yokohama Advan Sport V105 as joint 2nd. The MPSS was in the test but finished 6th out of the 9 contenders; great in the dry but apparently no so clever in the wet compared to some of the others.
On the road route the Goodyear was easily the best and, on the basis that's where most of us do our driving, personally I'd tend to give that part of the test a fairly high weighting. Surprised you got poor wear from your Goodyears, even on the rears they've always lasted the best part of 20k miles on the BMW's I've had. Currently got non run-flat AS2's on my F31 and no complaints whatsoever.... |

As ^^^^ above have Non RFT Goodyears on wifes Z4 255x30x19 rear & 225x35x19 font vast improvement in all aspects over the original run flats. will be putting them on the F31 soon.
Have used Goodyear, Flaken's & Toyo before, will say that Goodyears have been the best. Toyos just don't last, both Toyo & Falken are not a wide profile tyre so rim protection is not so good as G/years BTW Hankook V12 are here... http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/...l-96-y-xl.html Last edited by Alscoob; 08-25-2016 at 05:11 AM.. |

the goodyears i had were 7 years ago on a 230 bhp fwd diesel ibiza that literally got thrashed so not surprised that they didnt last long. i cant find eagle f1's in the size i need for the rear 275/30/20 |

i need 235/35/20 and 275/30/20 for xdrive as the difference is the smallest amount
235/35/20 = 672.5mm 275/30/20 = 673mm Last edited by Smee; 08-25-2016 at 06:18 AM.. |

I have sport conti 5 rft from the factory and are very good so imagine the 6 is even better. The ride is not as bad as I thought it would be as they are my first run flats but they do thunk over big bumps.
I always used to go eagle f1s on my other cars otherwise. |

Yep I had V105 on my car. They are OK, not in the same league as MPSS.

I have non runflats asymetric 3's on the front and 2's on the rear cause I couldn't get them in my size and needed to get new tyres. They are excellent tyres, had them on a golf before and was really impressed, the offer incredible grip wet and dry. I live in Glasgow we get a lot of rain!

I've known nothing else so can't compare but ordered them again as they get great wear and have never noticed the ride being too harsh. |

Definitely ditch run flats, no question!
MPSS are the best but if you can get cheaper decent tyres cheaper, like the Goodyear f1 assymetric or conti sport contact 6's, then do that if you want to save some money. |
