Exclamation Residue near fuel lines and injector

Hi all,

A mechanic replaced my injectors for index-12's a couple months ago.
Today I removed my engine cover and discovered that on injector 1 and 3 there's a fair bit of residue (fuel?) between the fuel line and the top of the injector.

On the second picture, you can see a clear difference between how it should be (left) and how it is on the 3rd injector (right).

Are these injectors flawed or is the bolt simply not tight enough / missing a bushing?

Thanks in advance!

based on where it is, can't think of anything else it would be. does it smell like fuel?

Looks like oil to me. Is your oil cap leaking?

I had a little bit of oil on injector 3 too; a bunch of oil had also absorbed into the foam under the engine cover as well.

I swapped my original oil cap out for the newest version and no issues since.

Looks like oil; I'd expect fuel to mostly evaporate and be much cleaner unless is was a persistent issue in which case it would probably collect dirt..

This seems very likely. It sure doesn't look like fuel from the pics.

OP tighten them up and look at that oil cap area.

I had the same problem, picked up a new oil cap and it got better but stil seeping.
Think this might be your problem op.

I have an after market oil cap now so maybe that's why mine is'nt 100% sealed..

Thanks for the replies, Will look into the oil cap. But, how can there be oil on injector 1 when the oil cap is leaking? From what i remember that injector is not near the oil cap.

idk dude, maybe your valve cover is cracked, valve cover gasket is leaking, some other gasket is leaking, etc. You'll have to tear into it...can't diagnose this over the internet.
