The price of injectors

This has to be talked about at some point here.

Rock auto is out of stock at all times.
ECS wants $1500 for a set of 6.
Saw a FB group post for $1k for index 12's private party, they might have been used even.

Not to be a debbie downer but this is a problem for the platform, no?

I've seen them (index 12) at about $200 on Amazon, but they're about $250 at the dealer with BMW discount, which is the same as ECS..

Agree. It's ridiculous. It's a piezo valve. Not exactly new tech. High pressure turbo engines are the norm now, makes no sense why these are almost 10X more expensive than the N55 ones.

I actually bought a set from Duncan who is also a customer of mine. Payed $1070 with shipping. Arrived in 3 days, new in the boxes... Just installed and coded them into my black car. Runs great. No more raw fuel smell on start or long cranks.

n55 injectors aren't piezoelectric they are soleniod that's why they are significantly cheaper.

Rock Auto seems to have them in stock more. They are $195 and not $130 or $140 like they used to be but they might still be the cheapest option. Prices have really gone up on these.

I bought an injector from RockAuto and they sent me an empty box. I eventually got a refund but I think my conclusion is that their stock isn't accurate or someone in their warehouse is stealing them (and probably selling them on this forum)

My car is probably going to need new injectors soon and I'm not looking forward to the parts bill. It's a little annoying considering that BMW can't seem to get these injectors right yet they cost so much. They are profiting on there mistake and we just cross our fingers that the next set will be our last.

Fair enough. Maybe someone needs to figure out that mod with an insert or something...

yeah the N55 was about cutting costs hence no twin turbo, no forged internals, welded small pumpkin diffs and cheaper somewhat inferior injectors etc etc...
