How to check build.progress
Hi all,
I see many people checking their build process with BMW... How does one do this? I assume you need an order number or something? What does the order number format look like? I've got something called order number 5 numbers dash 4 numbers .. nnnnn-nnnn.. Would that be it?

Go on the bmw website, go to build a car and the BMW Genius chat comes up or is accessed on the left hand side. Start a chat, give them your order number and they will tell you the latest status.

Hmmm seems the "order number" i have is not the one GENIUS wants.. It's supposed to be a 7 digit number beginning with 3.
But at least I know how to check.. Cheers guys. |

If you have a VIN, you can also use that to check and get more detail. VINs are only assigned very close to build time, once you reach 5000/5055.

You may need to contact your dealer for it - my printed order had a different number, that Genius didn't recognise. An email to the dealer did the trick.
