First Mods? Previous e93 M3 owner Just bought a 228i m sport

Hey everyone,

Im selling my 2010 e93 m3 and just bought a 228i m sport! Im brand new to the 2 series and n20 engine and am trying to figure out what my first mods should
be. Eventually I want to get to 300 WHP and I really want a good sounding exhaust (That isn't obnoxiously loud). Suspension mods and brake mods are on the list as well. Any advice is much appreciated!

Thanks,
Nick

Congrats! If you want a quick bump in power go with a BMS or AFE tune couple it with an exhaust and you'll be right where you want to be.

I'm a huge fan of OEM so I would say go with MPE. Little drone and perfect fitment.

Should I buy the m235i MPE and diffuser and retrofit it to my 228?

I'm waiting for the AWE Tuning exhaust suite, which is in development( for quite a long while BTW) . It should be the same parts as the one for the 238i if you're interested what the specs are.

I am very happy with my mods, especially the new springs and reprogrammed shocks. The car is much more aggressive than stock but still civilised. Check my sig for details and keep us posted; the right engine and suspension mods can turn this car from Jeckyll into Hyde. Suspension mods are important because the car has too much body roll and understeers on stock springs/shock settings.

My first mod would be a JB4 stage 2, this tune is a must on your engine.

Instead of doing an exhaust get downpipes for a better sound and power

What bolt ons do you need and what power gains do you get from JB4 Stage 2? Im debating between the Dinan tune and the JB4 Tune. Also will the exhaust sound good with just downpipes?

Exhaust will sound really good with only downpipe

No need for any other mods
JB4 on a stock car will add 25 whp and 40 wtq on a stock car
35 whp and 60 wtq if car has downpipes

Jb4 offers more power, features and flexibility than a Dinan for a way cheaper price. We offer 14 days money back guarantee on the JB4 if you would like to try it

Mike - doesn't the N20 have just one turbo and one downpipe like the N55?

OP - if you're coming out of an E9x M3, why didn't you go for the M235i with its 6-cylinders and 300+ hp? Nothing wrong with the 228i/N20, but if you're looking for 300 hp, you wouldn't need any mods on the N55.

I didn't have enough money to buy an m235i if I did I wouldn't bought it haha. But so far I'm content with the n20 in the 228i. I'm in college still so once I graduate I will probably upgrade to the m235i or m240i.

You have it! (Sorry for the quality. First time I've done this :P). Edit 2: The water you see coming out is because there was a storm last night.

Where did you get it? Is it bolt on without modification or did you have to do any cutting?

Certified Remus distributor and yes, they had to connect some things here and there. I don't think it was straightforward.
