Bye bye to M135i and 440i GC (Collected with pics)

Popped in my local BMW garage today just to show the wife the 4 series GC and ended up doing a deal on one

Had no real intention in ordering one today but got a very good 3rd Quarter Deal on a production car the dealer was keen to shift to meet targets etc. (Usual 20 % + discount and negative equity practically written off on the M135i).

So gone for a 440i M Sport Gran Coupé in Alpine White, Corel Red Leather with black highlight and piano black trim.

Options: Advanced parking pack / Active security pack / Interior comfort pack / Innovation pack / M sport plus pack / Adaptive suspension / Variable Sport Steering

The car is scheduled for production so they are talking as early as the end of September for delivery.

I will of course be sad to see the M135i go but I fancied something a little more comfortable and grown up.

My dads recently got a similar spec 340i which I've had many drives of so I know what to expect especially from the new B58 engine.

So pretty excited right now and looking forward to the new car.

Sounds a great car with a fantastic spec! The 4GC is a real looker.

This forum is really embracing the B58. I'm sure a lot of people will look forward to hearing your views on the N55 vs the B58.

That's a very nice spec there but what, pray, is the innovation pack?

I am not sure 20% plus is a "usual" discount for a 4GC so you have done well there. Trust me you won't miss the M lite, been there and got that t-shirt.

Welcome to the club

I can see that 20% should be achievable from a dealer looking to hit a target given C2C are advertising a discount of 19.5% on the 440i GC. However, to get 20% and negative equity on the existing car written-off sounds a pretty good result (depending of course on how much the negative equity was!).

Thank you. Yes hoping it will look great as I've not seen any 440i GC's Alpine White really in the flesh.

I've had a F20 125i in EB and my M135i is in silver so looking forward to the colour change also.

Only just realised having looked at the order form for the 20th million time that there are electric front memory seats on the spec as standard. Wow really pleased with that.

And heated seats & split folding rear seats (both of which aren't standard on the 340i)

Congrats. I too had an M135i and still miss that sweet engine, I've had 2.5 years in a diesel and cannot wait for the 340i to arrive.

Morning all

Does anyone have a decent photo of the 'Fineline Anthracite wood interior trim w/ Pearl Chrome finish' with the red leather in the 4GC??

If looks brown'ish on the BMW config. I can't find any decent photos online.

I had selected the 'individual piano black trim' but there is a issue with this and it will delay the new car.

Thanks
Martin

I had this exact dilemma when I ordered my car. I also have CR leather and had to choose between Anthracite and Ash Grain.

In the end I went to my dealership and managed to look over a number of cars with the two trim options. IMO the Anthracite clashes with the CR leather when lit (i.e. bright daylight) as the trim has a caramel colour.

This was just my preference though

Thanks mate. Although I've taken a small gamble and gone with the Anthracite.

Time will tell but hopefully it will look good and I will be pleasantly surprised.

My M135i has the brushed aluminium which seems to scratch easily. At least the Anthracite grain will be a change from this also.

I really *really* liked the look of the anthracite (preferred it to Ash Gran, which is what I have specified) but it just didn't work for me when juxtaposed with CR, example on the door trims.

It's still a lovely trim though and will look much better than Alu.

I think your right. I've just quickly emailed the dealer to change to the Ash grain finish.

Having had a good search on the internet this post seems to highlight the difference in the trim finishes.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=820360

The photos down the bottom of the page in the above link show the Saddle Brown interior working well and the anthracite and the ash finish working well with the Coral Red interior.

I'm glad I asked now! (phew)

Had an update from the dealer today. My cars looking like first week in October for delivery.

The wait is killing me.

I've oredered the M P carbon boot spoiler and the black kidney grilles in the meantime which will be fitted on the car for collection. My thinking is if the car comes with these bits already fitted the wife will never know

4GC is the best looking non M car that BMW makes in my opinion..... Then again I may be slightly biased. Lol.

Good choice and I am sure you will enjoy it immensely.

Good plan. Might do the same myself.

This waiting isn't good. Every week and there's something else I want to add to the car.
