Ordered today

Cut a check for the deposit on a 2017 MG. Dealer has one allotment for 2017 but is confident they can fulfill the 3 orders they have (I'm #3). I'm in no rush - simply wanted to get in line. This car will not be my DD. I have a 135i 6MT (not DD) that I will sell over the next 6 months or so. I'm figuring it will be after the first of the year before my car goes into production. We'll see...

Only three in front of you? Not bad! Every dealer I've called has a waiting list of 12-18 on average. I figured they would have more allocations since they move more M cars so the wait could be relative...or maybe I'm just unlucky

Did they mention pricing with you? MSRP? Which dealer?

Congrats and welcome to the club!

OP's dealer must be a clairvoyant to know his 2017 allocations though

Why would they not assume at least the same allocation numbers and rate for next year? Could even be a tad more now that they've brought more bits on site.

That is the theory I am hoping for. I am #3 on the list at my dealer, and they are assuming similar allocations that they have had for the last few months for Q4 as well as 2017. Hoping to have a VIN # November.....

Don't see any reason why that wouldn't be a sound assumption and I doubt anyone can show why it wouldn't be likely.

MSRP. Orr BMW Shreveport, LA. Again, even if the car ends up being a 2018, I'm good with it. I've always wanted an 'M" car - bucket list for me. Waiting another 12 months or more won't kill me.

Yeah seems to be the general consensus for wait times. My CA in Houston told me to don't hold my breath for this year but he hopes he can get something by 1Q17. I believe there will be supply, once the hype dies down.

Momentum off 59S. I am contemplating whether or not to put a deposit down at Advantage in Midtown however they have a nonrefundable deposit policy which I can understand yet don't feel too happy I can't get my $ back if I change my mind. Their waitlist is <10 people as of right now.

Same place I'm getting mine. What number are you on the list?

Man one can hope. The GT4 is all but a unicorn for me right now as I had to cancel my deposit when it was first announced due to the energy market tanking then after O&G is slowly rebounding decided I can make this purchase....now it's "We hope to get you one but we can't promise" from all the dealerships in Texas I called.

As for the M2, I just hope this isn't the case from what the optimism I'm reading on this forum about 4 year production cycle etc...

It felt the same way with the Golf R when it was first launched and each dealership had no idea whether or not they will get an allotment. The crazier thing was you couldn't spec yours as it was basically 2 offerings 6MT/DSG and DCC/NAV or not. Each dealer will just get a random spec and color and hope they sell. I found my R in Killeen, TX put in an offer and flew one-way the next morning to pick it up....but now, I've seen 8-10 of them running around here.

So here's to hoping!

Congrats! You may have ended up being #4 if I had kept my deposit at this same dealership. I was #2 up until earlier this month when I cut a deal on a built MY2016 arriving at a dealership in OK in a few weeks. My CA at Orr was Dean. Great fella.

Ouch! I hate to tell you this but when I talked to them in mid-June to get on the list, I would have been #19. I would be shocked if they had an allocation for you by Q1 2017. In fact, it seems almost impossible.

They had their HEA on the floor in June. They also got an extra allocation that didn't have to go through the wait list that I was able to get. But I had to agree to add some M Performance parts like MPE in order to get it, which added $5k or so to the price of the car. I'm week 37 production so I'm thinking I should get it in early October.

Haha yeah my CA told me "I'm going to try my best so let's keep our fingers crossed but don't hold your breath"

It's all good, not in a rush as I'm enjoying my Golf R. What's on the back of my mind now is the speculation of the CSL version.

Working with Greg Stark. He told me someone just cancelled so that must have been you! It will be interesting to see which happens first: My M2 arrives, my air bag recall is serviced on my 135i or we land a man on Mars.
