"Sticky" Brakes

I have a new 330i and I find the brakes to be a little "sticky", particularly when moving off, or when doing small controled movements for parking. Does anyone else notice this? Does it subside as the break pads wear in? I have 2500 miles on my car, and I've noticed it since day one. It's probably a result of the huge rotors and shoes on the 330i, but just wanted to check.

If you have a manual transmission, then this might be due to the start off assist feature. other than that, they might be on wrong

Interestingly enough, I don't have manual transmission or the sport package. So maybe I should take it in. Let's see what other folks have to say... It *may* be normal.

I too have Steptronic, but I'm positive it has the hill assist feature. The car slightly resistes moving forward after I stop in my driveway, which is on a farily steep grade. I can very clearly feel the brake assist let go as I press on the gas.

If I just sit there after I let my foot off the brake without hitting the gas, the assist will release after a few seconds and the car will start rolling backward slowly.

Mine does the same thing going up my ramp into the parking garage. Do you think the "stickiness" is a side affect of the hill assist? I also read that the new E90 has some feature that allows you to stop more smoothly without having to release and repress the brakepedal. It's doesn't "jolt" when you finally come to a stop.

It gets less sticky after a few thousand km/miles.

There was an earlier post about this - I had it from day 1 as well (auto with no steptronic). Still have it today. I think there was a discussion about brake dust buildup and people who brake slowly -- search for "brakes sticking" in the general forum.

i have auto with sp and i think it's normal. if u think the brakes r too sticky try putting it in ds mode if u have auto, then it'll get real touchy when u brake even slightly due to the sports mode by design.

well guys maybe it takes a little finesse to operate the brakes. Just be more sensative when applying the brake.

I also have a mt w/ sp, and the brakes are like that for the first 2-3k miles. However, it will still feel somewhat "sticky". I like to call it powerful brakes!

Believe me, its not from braking too slowly. I'm pretty damned sure there's a hill assist feature even on the automatics.

nope, have not noticed any sticky brakes on my e90 320i manual after 4000km, not sure whether it is because your brake rotors are much bigger than mine?
